A great cri-de-coeur by a Venture Capitalist on Web 2.0:

“I heard one business described as Google Maps meets delicious, and another described as Skype meets MySpace.  When the first derivative hasn’t fully figured its long term business model (other than getting bought), the second derivatives are pretty scary.”

Brazilian currency from the early 20th century.

From The Engraveyard:

It’s the Statue of Liberty on Spring Break!”

P.S. Notice how the currency is printed in London. One of the things I’ve always been fascinated about is where currency is printed. My old passport, for example, is printed by the Currency House (“Casa da Moeda”) in Brazil. My new one is printed by the “American Banknote Company“.
